Favorite Holiday Tradition

For me, we will put up the tree the day after Thanksgiving with just lights while watching Miracle on 34th Street. (As a kid, we’d actually sit around watching TV for the next few weeks, stringing cranberries and popcorn to put on it, but we haven’t done that in a long time.) But, on Christmas Eve, we’ll watch Charlie Brown’s Christmas & How the Grinch Stole Christmas while decorating the tree, eating pepperoni & provolone, and drinking Sparkling Cider. The tree stays up until the winter blues are over…(during covid it stayed up all year with different seasonal ornaments!) We really love just staring at it with the lights, sometimes it doesn’t need much more than that to be really emotionally uplifting.

I’m Brandi Cox and this is Kevin Cox. Our passion is helping families be more self-reliant and less dependent on their jobs to support their family.

What inspired you to get started as an entrepreneur?

"I went from six figures to no figures, and it turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to me. Let me tell you why...

You know, entrepreneurship is practically in my DNA. Both my partner Kevin and I grew up in entrepreneurial families, so we got that business mindset early on. But interestingly, I took a different path initially. I joined the US Air Force, then worked my way through government positions, and eventually climbed the corporate ladder to what many would consider 'success.’

But here's the thing about traditional success - it was literally killing me. I was in this high-level corporate position, making great money, but my health was deteriorating rapidly. The really scary part? I didn't even realize it. I had tied my entire self-worth to my productivity and income. So when my health forced me to quit that toxic job, I felt like I had lost everything.

I remember making this deal with myself at my lowest point - I promised I would help at least one person every day, even if that person was just myself. That promise changed everything. Suddenly, our household of four plus two large dogs had to survive on about $1,000 a month. Kevin had already taken a pay cut to help with the kids and my health. We had to get creative really fast.

Those next few years? They were like getting a PhD in real-world business and life management. We learned more in those years than most people learn in a lifetime. And you know what was fascinating? As I started coaching others, I noticed patterns in why people weren't launching their businesses or taking those crucial first steps.

That's when it hit us - we needed to create something different. Something that actually worked for real people with real challenges. So we built this three-part solution: a business launch program, automated management systems, and a work-from-home staffing agency that prioritizes disabled vets, single moms, and people with chronic illnesses - or as we call them, 'spoonies.'

We provide the guardrails and training wheels, but ultimately, we're building self-reliant entrepreneurs and families. That's why we only take on a small number of clients at a time. It's not about scale for us; it's about real, lasting impact.

Looking back at these past ten years, losing that corporate job wasn't the end - it was the beginning. We've built something that not only helps people launch businesses but transforms entire families. And you know what? That promise to help one person each day? Now we're helping hundreds, and I can do it even on days when I need to rest. That's what I call real success.
