Tell us about your business! What do you sell?
My business is called Under Construction; and I am a digital business strategist and marketing coach. I help people find their intersection of purpose+profit. The two do not need to be mutually exclusive and I believe we all have monetizable knowledge; so if you are building a business aligned with your values and based on your own passions, experiences and knowledge - that will be SUSTAINABLE. And you will still be around in 5 years. I sell me, helping YOU build your business. I am focused on helping you discover the knowledge that you have that can be productized and marketed. And I am focused on you holistically, giving you the tools to stay creative, not burn out, and be successful. I have 20 years of marketing experience and I bring all of my expertise to the table to help create products, marketing strategy, content strategy and branding. I sell courses, guides and experiences.

What inspired you to get started as an entrepreneur?

I spent 12 years at my last company before getting laid off due to a merger. That experience made me realize I did not want to be working for someone else. I had already been doing some side coaching, helping people create their digital footprints. I decided to go all in and was able to quickly build an in person coaching business, helping everyone from soloprenuers to non profits take their business on line. I am so much happier working for myself and would love to bring what I do to a larger audience in the digital space. My intersection of purpose and profit is helping others build their dreams.

Why do you think it’s important for holiday shoppers to buy from Small Businesses this year?

It's always important to buy from small businesses! They are the backbone of the world, but also I think supporting people who are trying to do it their own way is essential. We need to be supported so "we" collectively will keep going out there and trying new things, and building businesses. Small businesses sometimes become large businesses which help support the economy as well. SUPPORT!!!!!

What is the HOT DEAL you have coming for Black Friday that we need to be on the look for?
I have 3 new guides and a new course+workbook that I am really excited about.  1 is a 30 day creativity boost.   It is 158 pages of exercises to get your creative juices flowing.  We are all crreative in some way and I think it's really important to keep working that muscle.  It keeps you from stagnating.  I know when I have been working on something for a while and I feel stuck - I'll do something else and usually it's something that's more creative than what I've been working on.  Sometimes it's just taking out a piece of paper and writing, but sometimes I will whip out paints, depends on how I am feeling.  BUT, it always gets me UNSTUCK and I think that's really the value of this guide.  No one is going to do every exercise - but I go back to this guide all the time and it really energizes me.  The second guide is on finding your audience.  That is one of my specialties - I am not sure people realize how necessary it it to TRULY understand who your audience is - not just their demographics, and "what their needs and challenges are", but how they make decisions, what their values are, etc. All of this helps us know how to better meesage, engage and speak with them. I think a lot of people skip this deep work and then wonder why they are not connecting, or driving followers or engagement. Understanding your audience is the foundation of your business and your life, honestly! This is a great guide that ONLY FOCUSES on finding your audience - it has all of my secrets in it and a really great CHAT GPT prompt as a bonus if you want the shortcut.  I am all about working smarter, not harder!!! Just the prompt is worth the cost!
The  third guide is really about mindset - I see a lot of people feeling like they want to quit because things aren't moving as quickly as they thought they would.  Well, they never do - and all of those people who "went viral overnight", that is either not real or luck.  My "Maintaining Momentum When Things are Slow" guide will help you take the power back!!! It gives some great tips on how I powered through my slow times and hopefully will help others do the same.  So much of it is about the noise all around us!
And lastly - I created a new mini-course. I could be wrong, but feels like there are lots of people overwhelmed by all these kitchen sink courses, so i wanted to create bite size pieces.  My new course is on finding your intersection of purpose and profit.  And it is JUST About that - hopefully. after the 30 minutes it takes to go through the modules - you will come out with a solid mission statement, understand how to use your current passions, skills and knowledge to help people, an idea for a product and who your audience would be.  AND THAT'S IT.  Then you go from there. It comes with a workbook so you can actually do the work as you are watching the videos/  It's called The Purpose+Profit Blueprint and I am super excited about it.  Maybe the first in a series of just breaking stuff down into tiny pieces....can't wait for people to get it and I am hugely discounting it right now for black friday!  So everyone should jump in!
