No BS Trainer: Areej Ahmed
Dec 09, 2021What makes you a NO BS Entrepreneur?
To be a successful entrepreneur requires continuous learning. Even if you feel you are a successful money-making machine, there is always room to grow. We can never make more of two things: one is the land we are living in, and two is the time we are using. As an entrepreneur myself, I understand how valuable time is and the importance of learning. It gets exciting to learn something new that helps you and your business grow. There is no point in accumulating knowledge that will not be used. I am all about practical things we can apply today, and let’s leave the fluff because no one has time for that.
Instead of stating just practice and eventually you will get it, you will be able to teach while using practical activities to help them get it. Optimizing the information, you share allows your clients to enjoy the process as they learn and transform themselves.
I love to teach through experience, leaving clients with something exciting to talk about. Create unforgettable memories even when were on screen.
What’s the BIGGEST BS you see in the online entrepreneurial space?
1- It does not matter what you teach; as long as you give information, people will listen and be transformed.
- That is not true! I have been in enough programs/courses that were so boring, information overload, and so long that I lost interest in completing it. Did you know there are only about 9% of people who finish courses online, which means they buy the course/program but do not get any results for what they purchased. Simply because they did not get into the end or help needed. This is sad and shocking, and it does not have to be this way.
2- If clients do not complete a course/program or get results, they are to blame.
- You can be selling the dream outcome, but it does not necessarily mean it’s for everyone. This is why it’s important to understand your niche, clients' needs. If you don’t get the results, it's not only the client’s problem, it can simply be the delivery method. It doesn’t have to be a one-way business.
3- Whatever knowledge you have, you can teach it.
- That’s not true, anyone can consume knowledge, but not anyone can deliver knowledge. I remember getting so excited to listen to an expert on a particular topic, but 10min in and I am fighting myself to stay awake. The last thing I cared about was what was being said; I just wanted it to end.
4- What can you speak about for 30min or 1hr? Then you can teach that, and boom, it implies that you can even train and coach too.
- Not necessarily true, you can be the most knowledgeable person on the planet, but when it comes to teaching and delivering the knowledge, it’s a different story. Now it’s important to combine both the knowledge and delivery in a way that is fun, short with the actionable task. Which I believe is a skill set that anyone can learn.
What advice would you give other entrepreneurs in terms of creating true success and progress in their businesses?
1- Understand your clients' journey.
- How much do they know as they start their journey with you?
- What’s the struggle they are facing now and a clear outcome of how long it will take them to complete it.
- Find out their setback and mindset block
- Identify their why and remind them of it to keep going
Understand your client learning style
- You can be doing everything right, but clients are still confused with no results.
- Teach in different ways and make it simple.
- Give time for the client to process things,
- When you deliver your knowledge, always ask for feedback and what they learned, or if possible, have them demonstrate it back.
Add more value and activities that are engaging, fun that increases results.
- Do more than just teach verbally but add more excitement to your offer that excites them to complete the action steps you want them to achieve.
- Through gamification, giveaway or competition.
