The Quilt Basket is located at the historic 1914 Carnegie Public Library, 618 4th Street, Corning, California. With an inventory of thousands of fabrics, sewing notions, quilting patterns and reference materials machine embroidery stabilizers and embellishments. We are a dealership for Bernina and Bernette sewing machines. We also offer a wide variety of quilting, sewing, and machine embroidery classes, with a line-up of many fine teachers and remain on the lookout for more. Angie also offers virtual classes if you aren’t able to visit the shop in person.

Angela Thornton is the owner of The Quilt Basket since September of 2019. Previously Angie did longarm custom quilting while raising her children. When she moved to Corning about 8 years ago with her husband Keith, she retired from longarm custom quilting. Angie has taught quilting and sewing classes for many years in her hometown of Ukiah, CA. Keith and Angie have 3 children, one daughter in law, 1 son in law and 1 hopefully son in law and 4 ½ grandchildren as of now.

Angie’s mission for the shop is to provide a fun environment to gather with your friends new and old and learn the art of quilting/sewing. If there is a class you are looking for please let us know we can add it to our calendar.
